The Pennsylvania Department of Revenue won't be printing coupon booklets for businesses to file their sales taxes in 2005, eliminating all paper filings. As of February 1, the Commonwealth's 320,000 businesses will have several options for filing: telefiling by phone, electronically filing directly using the Department of Revenue's E-tides website or using an approved vendor's software, like Trustfile. "Trustfile eases the learning curve for those businesses that have never filed their sales and use taxes online," said King Woolf, Trustfile's President and Chief Operating Officer. "Our software is simple to use and offers important safeguards for confidential data that might not otherwise be protected by transmitting returns over the web. Trustfile technical support is only a phone call away for those who may need it." The Pennsylvania Department of Revenue has approved Trustfile for e-filings and the free one-year subscription can be ordered at http://www.trustfile.com. Trustfile currently processes approximately $8 billion in business taxes annually and is currently approved for use in ten states. Trustfile is compatible with most accounting and financial programs like Quicken or Peachtree and will import data from other software or spreadsheets. Trustfile uses existing data to complete tax forms, checks it for accuracy and then transmits it confidentially and safely to the Commonwealth's Department of Revenue. Users receive a confirmation after they transmit, assuring them that their return has been received. The software may be used by any business -- large or small -- that is required to file state sales and use taxes in Pennsylvania and offers key benefits: Ease -- Helpful wizards walk users through the process, step by step. Trustfile imports the data from the user's own systems, saving time and protecting confidentiality. In addition, preparers can print out a copy of their return for review before actually e-filing. Confidence in safe, secure e-filing -- Trustfile allows businesses to prepare and retain their data securely on their own systems and transmit only their encrypted return information over the internet. That protects the privacy of the data and Trustfile archives the information within the user's own system for easy reference, planning or audit purposes. Prompt Technical Support -- Trustfile's help desk of qualified personnel is just a phone call away, and is offered free of charge to all Trustfile users. Multiple state filings -- In addition to Pennsylvania, Trustfile is approved for e-filings in Wisconsin, Illinois, South Carolina, Tennessee, Louisiana, New Jersey, Florida and Maryland. About Trustfile Headquartered in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Trustfile processes billions of dollars in tax payments each year. Businesses large and small use Trustfile - - from sole proprietorships to Fortune 100 companies. Visit http://www.trustfile.com for more information.
